VP of Customs Brokerage – Customs Brokerage

Locations : Moonachie, NJ | Long Beach, CA | Chicago, IL (Onsite)

About the Role :

We are seeking an experienced Licensed U.S. Customs Broker(VP Level) to lead and manage national customs brokerage operation s. The ideal candidate will oversee entry teams, ensure full regulatory compliance, and drive operational excellence across multiple locations

Key Responsibilities :

  • Manage and lead customs brokerage operations nationwide
  • Oversee entry processing, compliance, and client communication
  • Ensure adherence to CBP, FDA, and other PGA regulations
  • Supervise and mentor a team of licensed brokers and entry writers
  • Maintain high accuracy, timely clearance, and audit-ready documentation
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to improve efficiency and service delivery
  • Provide clients with expert guidance on tariff classification and import regulations

Qualifications :

  • Licensed U.S. Customs Broker (required)
  • 10–20 years of experience in customs brokerage and import compliance
  • 5+ years of experience leading brokerage teams (multi-branch or national)
  • Proven experience handling high-volume import operation s
  • Strong knowledge of HTS, ACE, ABI systems, and PGA requirement s
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and client-facing skills
  • Experience with CargoWis e or similar brokerage systems preferred

    • Skills :

  • Deep knowledge of U.S. import / export laws, HTS classification, valuation, and PGA requirements
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Expertise in ACE, ABI systems, and brokerage software platforms (e.g., Descartes, WiseTech, CargoWise)
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate regulatory complexity into practical solutions
