VisionGift is a non-profit organization founded in 1975 by Lions Clubs of Oregon, which recognized the need for an eye bank to provide ocular tissue for transplants, research and medical education.
Since its inception, over 65,000 people have received the gift of sight from tissue procured and screened by VisionGift, which works closely with transplant surgeons. Additionally, ocular tissues have been utilized for valuable research projects and surgical training.

SUMMARY STATEMENT : The Eligibility Specialist (ES) is a Medical Director Designee and is responsible for ensuring eye tissue meets or exceeds all VisionGift, State, industry, Federal, and other applicable guidelines for recipient safety. They are responsible for making final donor eligibility determination, releasing tissue as safe for transplant use. The ES works closely with the VP of Donor Services to complete projects and other assigned duties as needed. After the initial training period, the position has flexibility for a hybrid work from home and on site schedule.

Requirements : EDUCATION :
Bachelor’s degree in science is recommended. Commensurate experience in a related field may substitute for a degree.
