Job Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg Telemetry position on the 7th floor with a WA or compact RN license and strong telemetry skills.

\n \n Responsibilities\n

  • Work in an acute care Med / Surg Telemetry unit with 32 beds
  • Patient population includes medical / surgical overflow with telemetry
  • Nurse-to-patient ratios are 4 : 1 or 5 : 1, depending on census
  • RN is required to titrate drips such as insulin and pain medications
  • Centralized telemetry with RNs validating tele strips
  • Uses Epic EMR system
  • Shift is 12 hours, nights (7 : 00 p.m. - 7 : 30 a.m.), with every other weekend required
  • Self-scheduling with the possibility to fill open shifts
  • Floating to other units as needed
  • No designated scrub color; professional attire is required
  • Highly functioning and family-oriented team with great support
  • Nurse aides provide support with average ratios of 8 : 1 or 10 : 1
  • Respiratory therapies such as BiPAP and high flow devices are utilized on the unit
  • Unit has both charge nurses and house supervisors available
  • Must work at least one winter and one summer holiday if assignment overlaps with those dates
  • Possibility to be placed on standby; no mandatory call
  • No requested time off (RTO) is permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • Specific reference requirements : one supervisor reference from the past year and one peer or supervisor reference from the past three years
  • Returning candidates must not have been employed by facilities associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year

  • Active WA or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent Med / Surg and telemetry experience
  • Current BLS certification is required
  • TELE certification is required
  • Ability to titrate drips and validate telemetry strips required
  • Experience with Epic charting system is preferred
