PeaceHealth is seeking a System Director Mission and Ministry Formation for a Full Time, Day position.
The System Director Mission and Ministry Formation provides leadership to ensure the organization's Mission is woven into everyday operations and interactions. Responsible for providing strategic and spiritual direction that deepen understanding of PeaceHealth's Catholic identity, heritage, mission and values. Creates, evaluates and revises strategic plans and delivery processes needed to directly provide Mission and Ministry Formation programs, services and resources across the system. This role ensures that formation across PeaceHealth inspires personal transformation and professional alignment—helping leaders and caregivers embody PeaceHealth's mission and values in every interaction. Collaborates with all Mission Integration leaders to create a spiritually enriching environment across our healthcare ministries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement a systemwide strategic plan for Mission and Ministry Formation that aligns with PeaceHealth’s Mission, Values, and Catholic heritage.
- Align formation initiatives with PeaceHealth’s strategic priorities, Catholic theological foundations, and the charism of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace.
- Serves as a system leader and spokesperson for Mission and ministry formation, representing PeaceHealth within and beyond the organization.
- Lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of multi-level formation programs for Community Health Boards, leaders, and caregivers across all PeaceHealth communities.
- Develop and facilitate experiences that integrate Catholic social teaching, spirituality, leadership, and ethics with PeaceHealth’s mission and culture.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and Human Experience to embed formation within leadership pathways, orientation, and professional development.
- Utilize innovative adult learning methodologies—retreats, mentoring, experiential learning, and virtual formats—to make formation accessible and impactful.
- Work closely with spiritual care leaders in the communities to ensure local adaptation and consistent theological grounding of formation programs.
- Serve as a liaison with the Catholic Health Association representing PeaceHealth’s commitment to excellence in mission and ministry formation.
- Develop and manage the ministry formation budget and resources responsibly.
- Establish meaningful metrics and evaluation methods to assess program impact on leadership formation and mission integration.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Required : Bachelor's DegreePreferred : Master's Degree Theology or related field.Preferred : Accredited School Clinical Pastoral EducationREQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible health care management experience related to spiritual care.Experience working with Catholic Healthcare Ethical and Religious DirectivesPreferred : Previous Pastoral Spiritual Care experience.REQUIRED SKILLS
Working knowledge of clinical and organization ethics in a health care setting.Ability to convey information effectively in verbal and written communication, and through group / business presentations and meetings.Ability to work effectively with groups and in a complex and matrixed organizational structure.MS office skills.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by the duties of the position.Ability to strategize, develop and evaluate business plans, initiatives, standards, budgets, and policies / procedures.Knowledge of the principles, standards and guidelines relating to pastoral intervention and clinical bioethics and related case reviews, policies and education.The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $0.00 – $0.00 .
