American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a rotating Emergency Department and Med / Surg Swing assignment, requiring an active MN RN license and at least 2 years of ER experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a Critical Access Hospital setting in the ER and Med / Surg Swing unitUnit features 4 beds and 2 trauma bays, with trauma level IV, STEMI receiving, and stroke designationPatient volume averages 10 per day in the ERER holds are intermixed within the main ER areaRotation between day and night shifts (7a-7p / 7p-7a), three 12-hour shifts per weekWeekend shifts required every other weekendHoliday coverage required if it falls within scheduled rotationsFloat required to Med / Surg and Swing Bed (same unit)Uses Point Click Care EMR; telemonitors are Mindray brandRNs are required to read their own strips; no telemetry techs availableScrub color is navy blueProvide direct patient care in ER and Med / Surg Swing settingsCharge nurse present each shift and also takes patientsNurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics are on call as neededNo in-house RT; RNs responsible for trouble-shooting respiratory equipmentSeparate psych / seclusion rooms are available on the unitAll time off (RTO) must be requested up front; additional RTO will not be granted post submission12 hours of unit-specific orientation provided at start of assignmentPrevious first-time travelers will be considered\n \n Requirements\n
Active MN RN license required at time of submission; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum 2 years recent ER experience and previous Med / Surg experience requiredCurrent certifications required : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC; PALS preferredDriver's license copy required for considerationMust not have been employed (FT, PT, or PRN) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past yearPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facilityTwo professional references required : one supervisor from last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from last 3 years\n Benefits\n
