Job Summary
The Phlebotomist (PSR II) represents the face of the organization and is responsible for delivering high-quality blood specimen collection and processing services. This role requires direct patient interaction while maintaining confidentiality, procedural compliance, and service excellence. The PSR II may support physician offices or Patient Service Centers based on operational needs and must maintain a professional and patient-focused environment at all times. Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical and forensic specimen collection and processing following established procedures
- Draw blood specimens including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Verify patient demographic information and obtain patient signatures post-venipuncture
- Ensure proper specimen labeling in the patient’s presence
- Maintain accurate documentation and required records
- Maintain a safe and professional work environment
- Travel to multiple Patient Service Center or in-office locations as needed
- Demonstrate strong customer focus and effective communication with patients and team members
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (REQUIRED)– years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collectionsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionReliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record (if applicable)Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume settingKeyboard / data entry proficiencyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsPreferred Qualifications
Medical assistant or paramedic trainingPhlebotomy certification (required in CA, NV, WA; preferred in MO)years of Patient Service Center experienceRetail or service industry customer service experienceWork Environment & Expectations
