Security Officer

Responsible for, and dedicated to providing recognition, satisfaction and value to its members, while facilitating the club's objectives and satisfying the financial gross operating profit covenants of the Company. Responsible for the safety and security of the club, guests and employees through the enforcement of policies and procedures and routine patrol of the entire club.

Essential Tasks:

1. Conduct routine patrols of the entire facility by foot to include all corridors, stairwells, public spaces, exterior grounds and parking areas.
2. Actively identifies safety hazards and breeches of security and communicate these hazards immediately to the appropriate departments.
3. Conduct routine inspection of fire equipment in all areas of the club.
4. Ensure that all guest rooms, storage areas, offices, public space areas and entrances to the building are secured and locked as necessary.
5. Respond immediately to all emergency situations including fires, power failures, medical, etc.
6. Investigate all disturbances, accidents, guest and employee injuries.
7. Administer first aid and CPR to guests and employees when appropriate according to OSHA laws and regulations.
8. Accurately compile all appropriate security reports in accordance with club policies and procedures.
9. Responsible for issuing a variety of keys to authorized personnel and maintain a key log to record their usage and inventory.
10. Monitor and control packages and other items entering and leaving the building through the issuing of package passes and employer baggage checks.
11. Monitor and maintain a log of all lost and found items.
12. Escorting club cashiers when necessary.
13. Monitor all vendors, visitors and employers entering and leaving the facilities.
14. Adhere to all fire, safety and security procedures according to club management company and club policies.
15. Comply with all policies and standard operating procedures of the club and its management company.

Qualifications Required

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Minimum of six (6) months previous security experience in a club or related facility required.

Skills & Abilities:

• Must be able to read and write as well as follow written and verbal English communication.
• Must develop English communication skills to the level required to communicate orally with other employees, club guests and visitors.
• Must be able to run up and down stairs in emergency situations.
• Must be able to endure long periods of standing and walking throughout an 8 hour shift.
• Must be able to stoop, bend and lift an average of 50 pounds.
• Must be First Aid and CPR certified or we will provide.
• Knowledge of club's amenities and services offered.
• Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Ability to multi-task between member requests, operational issues and team member needs.
• Effective, pleasant speaking and listening abilities when communicating with members and team members.
• Cooperative and positive attitude, exercising reason.
• Must be dependable and flexible with schedule changes.
• Must be able to work at a rapid pace, while maintaining attention to detail.
• Must have the ability to work on more than one task at a time.
• Must exhibit a STAR Service attitude, willing to go out of the way to accommodate and exceed the needs of club members and guest.
• Must exhibit enthusiasm for the job and for the club.
• Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
• Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
• Responsible for general safety on club grounds.
• Must have finder dexterity to be able operate equipment such as multi line tone phones and other general operating and/or office equipment.

Licenses and Certificates:

Must be in compliance with state and local laws and club policies pertaining to required certifications including but not limited to: CPR Certified, First Aid Certified, T.I.P.S. Training, Alcohol Awareness Training or Responsible Vendors Training.

Must pass a background security check and meet the pre-employment drug-free workplace conditions of the Company.

Note: This club operates seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. At times it will be necessary to move from accustomed shift if business demands. Understand that business determines the amount of hours worked. Management retains the discretion to add or change the duties of this position at any time.
