Industrial Engineer – Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization

Overview :

An established and growing manufacturer is seeking an Industrial Engineer to drive operational excellence and efficiency throughout its production facility. This is a hands-on role—spending roughly 85% of the time on the floor—partnering with production, maintenance, and engineering teams to enhance productivity, safety, and quality through data-driven process improvements and Lean manufacturing principles.

Key Responsibilities

Analyze and optimize production workflows to reduce waste, downtime, and cost while improving quality and throughput.

Develop, standardize, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all departments.

Partner with maintenance and engineering to evaluate and implement equipment upgrades, modifications, and process automation.

Conduct time studies , root cause analyses , and workflow assessments to identify improvement opportunities.

Track and report on key performance metrics, providing actionable recommendations to leadership.

Support plant safety initiatives through ergonomic assessments and process evaluations.

Lead training and coaching sessions to ensure consistent SOP compliance and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Participate in capital projects—providing engineering insight, ROI analysis, and implementation support.

Collaborate with leadership to implement Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen initiatives across departments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering , Mechanical Engineering , or related technical discipline.

Equivalent experience in a manufacturing / industrial environment may be considered.

Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.

Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing , Continuous Improvement , and workflow optimization .

Proficiency with AutoCAD (or similar CAD software) and Microsoft Office Suite .

Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to influence across departments.

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems and safety best practices.
