Job description

Join Our Team as an Occupational Therapy Specialist!

At SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital, we see our work as more than just a job; it's a passion and a commitment to make a difference in the lives of our patients. We are currently seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapy Specialist in our Inpatient Acute Care department.

Position Highlights :

  • Type : PRN
  • Schedule : Day Shift, Work 1 Weekend a Month, As Needed During the Week
  • Shift Differentials : Available for night, weekend, and extra shifts
  • Location : SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Oklahoma City

Role Overview :

You will assess and treat patients facing physical, emotional, cognitive, and psychosocial challenges. Your role will empower patients to regain independence and enhance their quality of life.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct detailed assessments to understand each patient's abilities and design individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement therapy techniques while documenting patient progress and making necessary adjustments to care plans.
  • Educate patients and their families about their conditions, treatment strategies, and available resources for discharge.
  • Supervise designated staff to ensure high-quality patient care in compliance with professional standards.
  • Maintain a vigilant and safe working environment.
  • Perform other relevant duties as needed.

    • Education and Experience :

  • Degree in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate) required for licensure.
  • No prior experience is necessary; we welcome new graduates.

    • Physical Requirements :

  • Constant standing and frequent movement; ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Effective communication skills and visual acuity for patient interaction and safety.
  • Occasional driving may be required.

    • Licenses and Certifications :

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of employment.
  • Active Occupational Therapist license in the relevant state is required.

    • Schedule : Day Shift (United States of America)
