ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State or compact state

Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience required

BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required

ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certifications preferred

Strong clinical assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills

Ability to excel in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency care environment

Emergency Room RN Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency care to patients in the ER

Assess, triage, and monitor patients with acute and emergent medical conditions

Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as ordered

Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Document patient care and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)

Educate patients and families on care plans, procedures, and discharge instructions

Maintain a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment in the Emergency Department
