Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and mentor a small procurement team while managing vendor relationships and overseeing purchasing for critical components. This is a key leadership role, stepping into the position after the retirement of a long-serving manager, and will require both strong supply chain knowledge and hands-on leadership in a close-knit environment. Responsibilities Lead and manage a procurement team of experienced buyers, providing mentorship, training, and professional growth opportunities. Oversee procurement of key industrial components including stainless steel valves, compressors, heaters, and other large-scale equipment. Build, maintain, and strengthen long-term vendor relationships, ensuring reliable supply and competitive pricing. Monitor market trends and forecast purchasing needs to support business objectives and anticipate future demands. Represent the company in vendor negotiations, contracts, and long-term supply agreements. Collaborate with teams to align procurement strategies with company goals. Maintain procurement records, analyze costs, and prepare reports using MS Office and Excel. Small company environment by wearing multiple hats and handling broader responsibilities beyond typical procurement functions. Key Requirements Proven track record in procurement management with long-tenured experience. Strong leadership and mentorship skills to guide and elevate the team. Excellent communication and negotiation abilities. Hands-on experience procuring industrial parts and equipment such as valves, compressors, and heaters. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel (procurement software knowledge is not required). Bachelor’s degree preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered. Comfortable working in a tight-knit, non-corporate environment where flexibility and versatility are essential.
