Nurse Practitioner

JOB DEFINITION :

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is to provide Psychiatric Assessments and medication management to children and adults experiencing a behavioral health crisis within a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week to Crisis Stabilization Center.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :

• Masters' degree in advanced nursing practice in psychiatry from an accredited program.
• New York State license and registration as a Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry.
• Current DEA registration.
• Certification required in Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) (i.e., suboxone).

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :

Substantial clinical experience with the diagnosis and treatment of the entire spectrum of mental disorders, in outpatient and / or inpatient settings. Experience will include management of seriously and persistently ill clients as well as those with psychiatric and co-occurring substance abuse disorders. Familiarity with current DSM criteria.
