As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for designing automated and manual fixtures for Body-In-White applications (Resistance Welding) and Frame Line (MIG Welding) systems, using 3D solid modeling.

Work location : Shelby Township, MI

Work type : On-site at local Paslin locations. Not available for remote work.

Expected hours of work : Typical work schedules for this site are 6am-230pm, Monday to Friday. Overtime : This position is for regular, full-time work and may require coming in early, working late, or working on weekends to meet the needs of the business.

Travel : This position may require occasional travel to customer sites or local travel to other Paslin locations.

Work Environment : This position operates primary in an office setting and secondary in a manufacturing site environment. This is a safety sensitive role, which includes working around moving equipment and machinery.

Physical Demands : The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and twist. This role requires the use of hand tools. Occasionally required to lift / push / pull up to 25lbs.

Experience : 1-3+ years of relevant work experience in an automation environment

Education : Associate degree in CAD, or Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, HS diploma / GED required

Technical Skills :

• Understanding of mechanical design and plant layout validation
• Knowledge of safety and ergonomic standards in mechanical design
• Prior experience with Body-In-White welding fixtures (preferred)
• Proficiency with CAD tools (NX, Unigraphics, CATIA, Inventor, or AutoCAD)
• Effective skills with Microsoft Office Suite
