Job Description
The primary role of a Phlebotomist II is to assist in executing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and recommending workflow improvements.
Responsibilities
Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and decontaminate work areas.
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
Clearly and courteously explain the process of venipuncture, blood drawing, and other specimen collections as required.
Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles.
Understand and accurately execute physicians' orders.
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts for accuracy.
Package specimens for transport and store samples according to required temperatures.
Adhere to OSHA and DEP regulations.
Attend annual department trainings.
Answer telephone calls and read laboratory results to address inquiries.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as a Phlebotomist.
Proficiency in phlebotomy, blood draws, and venipuncture from geriatric to pediatric patients.
Customer service skills.
Experience with specimen collection and processing.
Proficiency with straight needle venipuncture.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Minimum of 2 years of work experience in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
2-4 years of overall experience.
Work Environment
The role is based in Dacula, GA. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dacula, GA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00 / hr.
