WORK OBJECTIVE :
This position is responsible for supervising personnel in the construction department and managing the construction of NFTA capital projects. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Vice President of Engineering and Facilities Management.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES :
Knowledge of construction methods and practices; federal and state funding requirements and procedures; aviation and surface transportation operations and structures; safety standards. Strong project management, staff management and communication skills, and an understanding of engineering / architectural principles. Ability to adhere to deadlines and implementation schedules; effectively manage subordinate personnel and oversee contracted labor; accurately prepare and administer budgets and consistently analyze, interpret, and apply relevant information; establish and maintain effective working relationships with contractors, engineers / architects and employees.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, climbing, working outside on rough terrain, pushing and / or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds).
ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS :
Work is performed in usual office conditions and normal construction site conditions with occasional exposure to adverse environmental factors.
