Staff Nurse - Emergency Room - Temporary

Bargaining Unit : EAP

Rate of Pay : $68.46 / hour + DOE + Shift Differential

Summary

Functions independently in performing the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe therapeutic care for patients’ needs and / or complications of treatment in the Emergency Department.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Collects and documents data about patients seen on the unit.
• Interprets assessment data to prioritize treatment needs.
• Implements and evaluates individual plan of care.
• Prioritizes and assesses patient acuity and treatment modalities.
• Communicates discharge instructions and teaching.
• Possesses effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
• Utilizes equipment properly.
• Participates in departmental growth and development.
• Pursues professional growth.
• Follows patient care standards.
• Ability to work standby.
• Ability to work at ski first aid stations.

Minimum Education / Experience

Associate's Degree Degree from college or vocational school from a National League of Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or equivalent accredited school of nursing. The nurse shall have completed a nursing education program that included clinical experiences with actual patients under the supervision of qualified faculty.

1-2 years relevant experience

Required Licenses / Certifications

California Registered Nurse (RN)

Nevada Registered Nurse (RN)

Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

BLS / ACLS / PALS : Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS, ACLS, and / or PALS certification).
