Senior Accountant
The goal of the Senior Accountant is to maintain the integrity of the department and financial status of the organization as a whole by analyzing, recording, verifying, consolidating and entering transactions to develop and carry out long-term financial goals. BS or BA in Accounting required, MBA or MACC preferred. Five plus years of experience in accounts payable and general accounting functions preferred. Ability to handle large volumes of diversified work. Excellent financial analysis capabilities. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to communicate complex issues in simple, understandable terms. Responsible for maintaining and balancing subsidiary account by verifying, allocating, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. Formulates written policies and procedures, subject to approval by Manager. Prepares analyses and reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts. Prepares and records monthly journal entries for input to general ledger. Performs system testing and analysis as necessary to improve efficiency. Meditech, KRONOS or SQL database experience desired. Maintain system dictionaries as assigned. Assists in ensuring that all financial disclosures are filed in a timely manner. Assists in preparation of external financial audits. Acts as a liaison to other departments. Other duties as assigned.
