We are seeking an experienced Accounting Controller to lead our accounting, treasury oversight, risk management, and quoting functions. The Controller will manage a team responsible for responsible for accounts payable and treasury, accounts receivable, and bids and quoting. This role will also partner closely with the Director of FP&A, leading the annual budgeting process and supporting periodic forecasting.
The ideal candidate will be a proven financial leader who combines technical expertise with strong business acumen, integrity, and the ability to foster collaboration across the organization. This is a high-visibility role at our Arden Hills, MN headquarters and offers the opportunity to influence the company’s financial and operational success.
Essential Responsibilities
- Lead accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, and oversight of accounts payable and treasury.
- Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes in accordance with GAAP.
- Develop, implement, and maintain internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Oversee treasury management, including 13-week cash forecasting, ABL reporting, and working capital monitoring.
- Lead the annual budgeting process; support the Director of FP&A with periodic forecasting and scenario analysis.
- Manage the bids and quoting team; implement processes for legal / contractual review of proposals and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate annual corporate insurance renewals and support ongoing risk management activities.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and executive leadership to align financial and business strategies.
- Build and promote a collaborative culture within the finance function and across the organization.
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting and quoting staff to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Required Competencies & Characteristics
Strong technical expertise in U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, treasury, and ABL structures.High integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and transparency.Skilled in risk management, including insurance coverage, compliance, and contract review processes.Excellent leadership and team management skills; ability to foster accountability and collaboration.Strong judgment, decision-making, and ability to balance strategic and tactical responsibilities.Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build cross-functional trust.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, CPA or CMA strongly preferred.10+ years of progressive accounting / finance experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.Experience with treasury management, cash forecasting, and asset-based lending facilities.Demonstrated experience leading an annual budgeting process and supporting forecasts.Experience coordinating insurance renewals and risk management activities.Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; proficiency in PowerBI and Infor / CSI (CloudSuite Industrial) a plus.ERP / accounting system expertise; experience with CPQ or quoting automation tools preferredExperience in value-added reselling, distribution, or manufacturing, preferred.
