Senior Architect (m / f / d)

(unlimited, full-time) Join our team at our location in Berlin, Baden-Baden, Verl, Tallinn, Oslo or Stockholm - flexible working conditions available

As a Senior Architect in our Technology & Innovation department, you will architect Riverty's AI platform for the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). You will define how Large Language Models, knowledge graphs, and agentic systems interact within a secure, scalable, and high-performing ecosystem. Your work will provide the architectural foundation for Riverty's next generation of intelligent developer tools and automation capabilities.

Your key responsibilities :

Architect Riverty's AI platform for the SDLC : Design scalable, modular AI architectures that integrate LLMs, agent runtimes, and orchestration layers.

Drive agentic systems : Evaluate and implement frameworks such as the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and AI Gateway solutions for controllable, multi-agent interaction.

Design intelligent data integration : Build semantic layers and knowledge graphs that provide rich context to AI components.

Ensure scalability, reliability, and compliance : Establish architectural principles and governance for secure AI systems on Azure.

Collaborate across teams : Partner with AI Engineers, Solution Architects, and Product Owners to turn AI concepts into enterprise-ready capabilities.

Evaluate emerging technologies : Continuously assess LLM, agentic, and orchestration trends to inform platform evolution.

Guide technical direction : Define standards, reference architectures, and best practices for sustainable AI development across Riverty.

Your profile :

12+ years of experience in software development, with strong hands-on engineering capabilities.

7+ years in software architecture roles, guiding and enabling teams in a hands-on capacity.

5+ years of experience in system design and distributed architectures.

3+ years of experience leading or running engineering teams.

Proficiency in at least two programming languages, one of them being Java or C#, plus familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript).

Strong understanding of GenAI and LLM-based architectures, agentic systems, and related frameworks or up-to-date research.

Experience with cloud-native environments (preferably Azure), containerization, and DevOps practices.

Familiarity with knowledge graph technologies, semantic data integration, and contextual retrieval patterns.

Strategic mindset combined with hands-on technical leadership.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and business domains.

Fluent in English; German is a plus.
