Security Specialist-3

This position will be filled at the Security Specialist 3 level, depending on the skills of the selected candidate. Job responsibilities will be assigned at the current level. You will be part of a high performing team, instrumental in helping maintain the safety and security of the Laboratory's Category-1 nuclear facility, the most secure area within the laboratory. Working in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment, you will need to have a keen eye for detail, maintain a positive, customer-focused attitude, and ensure all LANL and federal security requirements are met while optimizing efficiency / success for the important work being accomplished. More importantly, you must be able to demonstrate and promote self-responsibility and accountability for safety, security, quality, and environmental standards in all operations.

Education and Experience :
Education / Experience at higher level : Position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, or Security related field, and 6 years of experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

Selectee may be required to work outside of normal hours, including shift schedules.

The work location for this position is onsite and located in Los Alamos, NM. All work locations are at the discretion of management.
Position commitment :
Regular appointment employees are required to serve a period of continuous service in their current position in order to be eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory. If an employee has not served the time required, they may only apply for Laboratory jobs with the documented approval of their Division Leader. The position commitment for this position is 1 year.
