Job Description: CDL Driver for Universal Truck Service is delivering customer satisfaction. First priority is maintaining safety not only for your vehicle but for the customers vehicle also. CDL drivers need to be punctual and maintain professional and positive work attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect every vehicle prior to delivery by way of pre-trip walk around.
• CDL drivers may be expected to deliver vehicles over state lines and must be able to operate within MNDOT and other federal regulations such as logbooks, deal plates and carrying proper documentation with you at all times.
• CDL Drivers may be asked to chase one another in order to ensure pickups and deliveries are completed in safe and efficient ways.
• CDL Drivers will be expected to assist with ongoing inspections and maintenance of company vehicles as needed.
• CDL Drivers may be required to pickup and deliver parts as mission requirements needed.
• CDL Drivers will be expected to maintain current and proper personal paperwork such as endorsements, health cards, and drivers will be subject to random drug testing.
• CDL drivers must wear closed toe shoes and steel toe/composite toe are preferred.
• CDL drivers must be able to lift and move 75 plus pounds.
• CDL drivers may occasionally have to lift over 100 lbs.
• Anything else that may be asked in order to forward the overall mission of the company.

Qualifications:

Meet all Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration qualifications.

Be at least 23 years old.

Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience operating tractor/trailer equipment.

No have had any conviction for a serious or disqualifying traffic violation within the last three (3) years.

Not have had any conviction for driving while intoxicated or under the influence of drugs violation within the past five(5) years.

Not have had more than three (3) moving violations in the past 36 months, and no more than two(2) moving violations in the previous 12 months.

CDL drivers must be able to lift and move 50 plus pounds.

Other skills and Knowledge:

Loading, unloading and chaining of heavy equipment.

Operation of Semi and trailer combos, pintle hitch trailers, and other MISC vehicles.

Knowledge of basic maintenance or repairs on trucks and trailers necessary to move downed equipment.

Knowledge of safe practices when operating on the side of the highway or other busy streets.

Experience moving Pup and Full-Size trailers in confined spaces.

Required Tanker and Hazmat Endorsements.

Must be able to drive a manual transmission.
