We are seeking a Fire Inspector / Official Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in these open enrollment courses, with a specific focus on the duties and responsibilities of a fire inspector and a fire official. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to share their expertise with the next generation of fire safety leaders
This course prepares individuals to effectively administer and enforce the Uniform Fire Code, and the Uniform Constructor Code to ensure public safety and welfare.
This is a part-time, hourly position.
Examples of Duties :
- Teach a variety of courses related to fire safety, fire codes, fire investigations, fire prevention, and fire official duties.
- Develop and update curriculum to ensure it aligns with current industry standards, regulations and best practices.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and career paths within the fire service.
- Contribute to program development and assessment.
- Maintain professional certifications and knowledge of the latest advancements in fire safety.
- The fire inspector class encompasses plan review and inspection for all commercial structures in accordance with the NJ Department of Community Affairs, Division of Fire Safety, specifically UFC section NJAC 5 : 71-4.9(f)
Qualifications :
Extensive experience as a certified fire official and fire inspectorProfessional certifications from organizations such as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) or the International Code Council (ICC).Demonstrated expertise in fire prevention, code enforcement, and fire investigation.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.The ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.Preferred :
Prior teaching experience.Experience in fire department administration or leadership.The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
Compensation : Compensation is determined by a variety of criteria, including but not limited to, previous relevant experience, education level, and certifications. The hourly pay for this position is $40.
