Summary

The primary responsibilities of the Shipping & Receiving Clerk include managing incoming and outgoing shipments, maintaining accurate records of inventory, and ensuring timely and efficient handling of all goods. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities

• Receive incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders or packing slips, and inspect goods for damage or defects.
• Record and track all received inventory using inventory management software or manual systems.
• Prepare outgoing shipments by picking, packing, and labeling items according to shipping guidelines and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely shipment of goods.
• Maintain organized and clean warehouse storage areas to facilitate efficient movement of inventory.
• Perform regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and records.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams to coordinate inbound and outbound shipments and resolve any issues or delays.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for all warehouse personnel.
• Assist in the implementation of process improvements to optimize efficiency and accuracy in shipping and receiving operations.
• Provide support to other warehouse functions as needed, including inventory control, order picking, and stocking.
