Responsibilities Work in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within a Level I Trauma, Children's, and Teaching Hospital setting Rotating 12-hour shifts (day and night); ability to work either shift required during the contract Patient ratio is 1 : 2 Treats patient populations including respiratory distress / failure, renal failure, trauma, CRRT, ECMO, heme / onc, multi-system organ failure, and suicide attempt CRRT and ECMO procedures, vents, and inotropic drips are part of the workflow Use of Cerner EMR system Weekend shifts required : 4 per schedule for day shift and 4-5 for night shift Floating required to NICU and occasional support to Pediatric ED (resource only, no patient assignments) No on-call required No locals within a 75-mile radius Daily responsibilities include managing critical pediatric patients and supporting the care of high-acuity cases Must be able to support NICU and provide resource support in the Pediatric ED as needed Black scrubs required (not provided by facility) First-time travelers are accepted RTO greater than 7 days requires approval; no RTO during the first 7 days or on the last day of the contract Holiday shift bundles limited; request time off accordingly Pre-employment drug screening required within 30 days of start Free on-site parking available Perm employees may return as travelers if separated for 12 months or more Orientation includes required modules (up to 4 billable hours) and compliance activities P / F testing required prior to start Requirements Active NM or compact state RN license (can be pending at time of consideration) Minimum 1.5 years of PICU RN experience required Current BLS and PALS certifications required CRRT and ECMO procedure experience required Working knowledge of ventilators and inotropic drips required Must provide valid driver’s license or written transportation plan COVID vaccination required; medical and religious exemptions accepted with appropriate documentation Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-622976.
