Director of Computing Infrastructure Department / Division : IT Department Salary : $115,000 - $130,000 Reports to : Chief Information OfficerPriority consideration to those who apply by November 16th, 2025.

Olympic College is seeking for a Director of Computing Infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the server, cloud, network, telephony, and audiovisual infrastructure components of IT department, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of IT services to the organization. This position works directly for the Chief Information Officer in developing and implementing campus-wide project plans that impact the whole institution. This is a management and technical advisory position; technical knowledge will be essential for a successful candidate. This is an in-person position.Essential Functions

  • Serves as high level technical support for the IT Department.
  • IT Infrastructure Strategy and Management : Develop and implement comprehensive IT infrastructure strategies to support business goals and operations. Oversee all IT infrastructure activities, including network management, system administration, and IT security.
  • System Design and Implementation : Plan and execute the design and implementation of IT systems, ensuring they meet business requirements. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure successful system deployment.
  • Network Management : Ensure the reliability and performance of the organization’s network infrastructure. Manage network design, implementation, and maintenance, including LAN, WAN, and VPN.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management : Oversee the design and management of cloud infrastructure and services. Ensure the scalability, security, and performance of cloud-based systems.
  • IT Security and Compliance : Implement and maintain IT security measures to protect against cyber threats. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, such as FERPA, NIST, CISA, PCI, and ISO / IEC 27001.
  • Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity : Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure system availability during emergencies. Conduct regular testing and updates of recovery plans.
  • Team Leadership : Oversee a team of system, network, and cybersecurity administrators, ensuring they meet operational standards and performance targets.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration : Collaborate with other departments to align infrastructure administration practices with broader business objectives.
  • Project management : Direct and coordinate the planning and execution of infrastructure and capital projects, such as upgrades, migrations, and deployments.
  • Vendor Management and supervision : Manage and supervise vendors, including hardware suppliers, software providers.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems or related field.
  • At least 5 years of systems / cloud management experience and high-level systems / cloud administration experience.
  • At least 5 years of network management experience and high-level network administration experience.
  • At least 5 years of IT project management experience.
  • Proven experience with large-scale, multi-site IT infrastructure support
  • Experience and Knowledge are key components due to the level of decision making and technical expertise required to perform the tasks for this position.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of management and network / system / cloud administrative experience.
  • At least 5 years of high-level IT leadership.
  • Master’s degree in an IT-related field.
  • Microsoft, AWS, Azure, Cisco certifications.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Advanced Experience managing hybrid cloud environments, integrating on-premises and cloud-based systems.
  • Expertise in cybersecurity protocols, with hands-on experience in threat detection and incident response.
  • Experience implementing automation and orchestration tools for infrastructure management, improving efficiency, and reducing manual intervention.

    Please note that we are unable to sponsor visas for this position. Only candidates who are currently authorized to work in the United States will be considered.

    This is a full-time exempt position scheduled to work Monday through Friday. The salary for this position is $115,000 - $130,000 annually, which includes a generous benefits package that includes the following.
