Job Title : 10-Month Mental Health Clinician - School Based Department : Behavioral Health Clinic

Position Summary : Assist children and adults, collaborating with their system of care, in working toward recovery and reducing the impact of mental health symptoms through effective assessment, intervention, and ongoing evaluation of treatment effectiveness. This will be achieved by providing outpaitent services in satelitte clinics located within school districts.

Compensation

Salary for this position is based on a 10 month schedule, as this position is based in school districts. Candidates will be expected to work per diem hours over summer and will be compensated at their equivalent hourly rate.

$39,167 - $46,542 (yearly)

Position Specific Duties / Responsibilities :

Provide individual, group, and family therapy / clinic services, at 2 or more school-based satellite locations.

Assess each client’s mental health strengths and needs under the most current edition of the DSM / ICD 10 codes, following pertinent regulatory and agency standards

Ability to detect clients at risk, to prevent further psychological or physical deterioration

Effectively collaborate with the client’s continuum of care providers to include the school district, psychiatric care provider, primary health provider, and other involved health care providers.

Ensure full engagement of each client in the therapeutic process as evidenced by consistent attendance at scheduled sessions and contributions to treatment planning and progress

Collaborate with the child and family to develop and establish a diagnosis and treatment plan that meets medical necessity while honoring the child’s self-identified needs, goals, and ethnic, religious, and cultural identities.

Complete and maintain intake assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and all required documentation within regulatory timeframes, adhering to professional standards, agency policies, Office of Mental Health (OMH) guidelines, Federal Medicaid and HMO requirements, and COA accreditation standards.

Ensure that each assigned client’s record is accurately maintained and up to date in compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and agency standards.

Consistently meet established productivity expectations as defined by agency policy and program standards.

Participates in the 24-hour on-call clinical rotation to ensure continuous crisis support for clients of the Behavioral Health Clinic, during the 10 month full time employment period.

Ensure therapeutic services continue to align with the treatment plan during per diem summer months

Attend individual supervision and staff meetings during the 10-month and summer, per diem period.

Understand and adhere to Gateway's Code of Conduct, Code of Ethics, providing professional and meaningful interventions and interactions.

Participate in clinical supervision, case consultation, staff meetings and trainings as required by the program.

Ability to attend school related events in the evening, as necessary.

Ability to work and travel to a School-Based Satellite location and the Main Clinic location

Knowledgeable in Evidence-Based behavioral interventions and assessments

Ability to work effectively with clients, staff, families, and community contacts from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

Qualifications

Must be license-eligible, hold a provisional license (LMHC-P or LMSW permit), or be fully licensed as an LMSW, LCSW, or LMHC. LMSW candidates should be eligible for or actively pursuing their “C” designation, and LMHC candidates should be eligible for or actively pursuing their Diagnostic Privilege / Permit. Candidates may also qualify under grandfathering provisions, with appropriate exemption documentation provided.

Ability to transition to Per Diem status during the summer months and provide services in alignment with each client’s treatment plan and prescribed treatment frequency.
