Transmission Project Engineer at Electrical Consultants, Inc. (ECI). Location options : Columbus, NE; Omaha, NE; Lincoln, NE.
ECI is a leading power engineering consultant firm providing engineering, system planning and studies, technical consultation, project management, surveying, environmental planning, commissioning / testing and construction services to electric utilities, energy developers and industrials across the U.S. Our experience includes system voltages from 4.16 kV through 765 kV. ECI is opening an office in Nebraska in one of the listed cities and has an opening for a transmission project engineer to help start and grow a new office location.
Responsibilities
- Conceptual, preliminary and final detailed design of new and upgraded transmission lines, including material procurement and construction support through line energization.
- Work under the direction and mentorship of a Senior Engineer or Project Manager to direct a project team in developing design calculations, detail drawings, specifications, and other construction documents for power line facilities.
- Create project scope documents; perform finite element design modeling using PLS-CADD; engineer designs of structures and foundations; develop loading, framing, foundation and plan & profile drawing sets.
- Create staking sheets, sag charts, and other construction exhibits; produce material and construction specifications; perform other design tasks as needed.
- Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing projects, including client and stakeholder coordination, training and mentoring of design staff, project quality assurance, and oversight of Design Engineers, Designers, Drafters and support staff.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor of Science or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, 6+ years of project and design engineering experience, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong organization and planning skills; ability to work in a team environment; commitment to quality and accuracy; willingness to meet fast-paced project schedules.PE license preferred; advanced knowledge of transmission engineering principles; expert in applicable codes, standards, and design tools; basic project management execution skills; ability to oversee and direct design personnel on a project team.May be subject to client-mandated drug and background checks. Occasional travel is required; subject to ECI auto insurance carrier requirements.
