Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric groups through standardized assessments and direct observation.
  • Design individualized treatment plans that cater to both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver focused speech therapy interventions that enhance communication, language, fluency, voice quality, and swallowing skills.
  • Collaborate closely with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to ensure well-rounded care strategies.
  • Provide invaluable education to patients and their families to promote progress beyond clinic sessions.
  • Participate in occasional inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions to maintain care continuity throughout the treatment experience.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation that aligns with state, federal, and organizational regulations.
  • Stay abreast of current developments in the field through continuous education and collaboration with peers.

Education

  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet certified by ASHA.
  • Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
  • Skills

  • Strong command of evidence-based treatment methods for all ages, with deep knowledge of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing issues.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for engaging with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to adjust therapy techniques to respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Sound clinical judgment paired with creative problem-solving capabilities.
  • Comfortable working with electronic medical records and adhering to documentation norms.
