Food Server

Melmark Overview

Melmark is a nonprofit organization providing clinically-sophisticated evidence-based special education, residential, vocational, and therapeutic services for children and adults diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders, developmental and intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, medical complexities, and other neurological and genetic disorders.

Food Server Overview

This is a 20 hour per week position : Monday through Friday from 10 : 00 a.m. to 2 : 00 p.m., with the exception of two (2) school vacation weeks and holidays. This candidate will be responsible for handling communication between the school and our food vendor, understanding any dietary needs and restrictions per Doctor's orders in order to insure that the lunch program runs smoothly. The position will also be responsible for serving lunches for our students, keeping track of the temperature of the food once it is served and cleaning up between lunch periods.

Schedule and Salary Information

Monday- Friday 10a-2p
Rate : $16-$20 / hour based on experience

Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D

A valid US driver’s license and a minimum age of twenty-one (21) years old. Must be capable of attaining approved Melmark driver status.

Requires cleaning experience, exceptional organizational skills and knowledge of regulations relating to foodservice. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in foodservice.

Food Server Responsibilities

Coordinates food preparation which includes but not limited to warming any frozen foods, setting up the tables before mealtime.

Maintains food inventory and informs the Director of Business Operations when the inventory is low.

Responsible for general upkeep of the kitchen area by cleaning, mopping and dusting the tables, floors etc.

Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the staff break room at all times.

In charge of cleaning refrigerators throughout the school and throwing away unclaimed items in the fridge.
