Haugland Group, a privately-owned civil infrastructure and energy construction company has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Civil Estimator to join our team in Florida.
The Civil Estimator candidate must have experience with heavy civil estimating and construction (utilities a plus) and be able to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, takeoffs, crew compositions and productions.

Key Functions
- Coordinate and strategize with management to identify prospective projects to be added to the bid log.
- Prepare cost estimates for projects in alignment with the company business model, its strategic goals and industry standards.
- Analyze bid documents to determine the scope of work and prepare the bid in compliance with company requirements.
- Set up labor crews, equipment, and productions appropriate to the scope of work involved.
- Attend pre-qualification events and site visits as required.
- Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors.
- Thoroughly review all department estimates to ensure accuracy and compliance prior to submission.
- Work with project management teams throughout the project lifecycle, including pre-construction functions and change orders.
Desired Qualifications
5+ years of estimating experience in the civil construction industry.Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management or related field preferred.Knowledge of civil construction principles, with the ability to read plans and specifications.Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software systems (Accubid, B2W, HCSS, etc.).Ability to work independently to complete estimates or proposals efficiently while meeting firm deadlines.Effective communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills, and a strong work ethic.Experience bidding FDOT work, public and private energy and utility work, ports, airports, commercial, or industrial work preferred.Why Haugland?
