Brooksource, a trusted hiring partner to the University of Central Florida (UCF), is seeking multiple Electricians to join UCFs Facilities and Business Operations team on the Knight Shift. This role is vital to maintaining safe, efficient, and fully functional infrastructure across campus buildingsespecially during overnight hours.

This is a night shift position that includes a 10% differential added to your hourly rate upon rolling into a permanent employee (after 6 months).
Perform routine and scheduled maintenance to prevent equipment failure.
Conduct PM repairs and corrective actions to restore functionality across campus.
Install, maintain, and modify electrical wiring, circuits, appliances, motors, generators, and other components.
Troubleshoot power failures, system malfunctions, and electrical issues.
Maintain and repair fire alarm systems as needed.
Support cross-functional teams on Facilities Improvement and Capital Projects.
Assist with contractor and central shop efforts during inspections or major repairs.
Document all work within the Integrated Work Management System (IWMS), including labor hours, materials used, and job status updates.
Ensure compliance with national and state electrical codes.
Respond promptly to urgent and life safety work orders.
Maintain communication with stakeholders regarding shutdowns or area closures required for work completion.
Completion of an approved electrician apprenticeship program, or
High school diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Appropriate vocational or technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate.
Must meet eligibility per Fla. Stat. 112.219.
Valid Class E Drivers License required.
Must be willing to complete a health assessment and physical exam as required by UCF policy.
3+ years of hands-on experience maintaining and repairing commercial or institutional electrical systems.
Experience working in large-scale environments (university, healthcare, government, etc.).
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Skilled in diagnosing issues with low and medium voltage systems, controls, and fire alarm circuits.
Familiar with trade-specific tools, equipment, and materials.
Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
Experience using Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) or equivalent platforms.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Familiarity with NFPA standards and Florida Building Codes.
Flexibility to work outside regular hours as needed.
