On a hybrid schedule, you will be expected to work in the office 3 days per week (Mon, Wed, Thu). Hybrid roles have the flexibility to work from anywhere for up to 4 weeks per year.
Expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $156,000 - $195,000.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive US international & global tax strategies that align with business goals, minimize liabilities, and optimize cash flow, including advising on acquisitions, new jurisdictions, and structuring global investments.
Advise on intercompany transactions, ensuring US & international compliance and tax efficiency in cross-border charges, including overseeing our global transfer pricing policies & strategy.
Lead and conduct research and provide analysis on complex US international tax matters including Pillar II and outbound and inbound transactions.
Support the quarterly and income tax provision process as the subject matter expert for US International tax provision purposes in compliance with ASC 740.
Assist with the quantification of tax reserves in compliance with ASC 450.
Partner with third‑party service providers, Lyft's finance and accounting teams, product teams, engineering teams, and internal legal counsel to ensure tax requirements are met.
Adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines, analyze and solve problems, work under your own initiative.
Stay abreast of tax law changes that impact Lyft's business, analyzing legislation, participating in modeling scenarios, and communicating tax‑related information effectively to stakeholders.
Experience and Qualifications
10+ years of progressive corporate income tax experience with a focus on tax planning for multinational corporations with operations in EMEA and APAC.
In depth experience with international corporate tax planning including hands‑on experience developing tax forecasts and creating tax models to inform decision making.
Proven experience in US international tax and transfer pricing principles and their application to technology businesses.
Strong technical knowledge of ASC 740 and ASC 450.
Demonstrated experience cultivating cross‑functional relationships and communicating complicated tax technical matters to all levels and business functions.
Proven project management and organizational skills with the experience to prioritize multiple competing tasks in a fast paced, high pressure environment.
An ability to balance individual ownership and accountability with collaboration and partnership.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including ability to articulate complex tax topics to non‑tax business partners.
Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy and compliance.
Strong computer and technology skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Google suite products.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA, JD, or LLM in Taxation.
Combined Big 4 or law firm and technology industry experience.
Accounting system experience (Oracle or similar ERP).
