Carpenter General Foreman
The Carpenter General Foreman oversees and coordinates the daily operations of civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project specifications and timelines. The role involves supervising crews, managing resources, and liaising with project managers and subcontractors. Must be familiar with work assigned and ensure that all work meets or exceeds standards accountability for crew. Responsible for the motivation of their assigned employees and will support his / her immediate supervisor in any possible manner to effectively perform their duties. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. Will be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
Responsibilities

- Supervise and coordinate activities of civil construction crews including earthworks, concrete, drainage, storm water and structural works
- Supervise and set direction for all Foreman and Leadmen on-site to ensure best use of company resources; and adherence to all company policies and state and federal regulations
- Provide formal coaching feedback to Foreman
- Schedule equipment, materials and tools to effectively utilize all resources and to maximize production and minimize costs after becoming familiar with scope of work and site conditions and collaborate with Civil Superintendent on all scheduled activities
- Manage, coach, train and implement standardized work plans and assist Civil Superintendent in process improvement efforts
- Manage and maintain responsibility for safe working conditions and safety procedures on the project, more particularly for specific discipline.
- Understand and enforce company, jobsite specific, federal, and state safety regulations on site and addresses any concerns with Civil Superintendent
- The General Foreman will be accountable project construction activities and communicating the expectations to craftsman, subcontractors, and vendors
- Maintain records of labor and equipment production and compare it to the estimate
- Communicate with the Civil Superintendent concerning any cost over runs and utilization of the company resources
- Mentor Foreman on the work discipline such as production costs, scope of work, quality, and safety
- Maintain and update all crew and equipment matrixes
- Responsible for holding crew members and foreman accountable for company and project rules
- Make sure that all Standard Operating Procedures and Best Practices are followed
- Must be familiar with mix designs and the curing process for concrete
- Responsible for conducting weekly / quarterly safety and quality audits
- Have an advance knowledge of the QC process as it pertains to check out process
- Will be responsible for receiving permits to support the work being performed
