About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Experience : Minimum 1 year in a dedicated Neuro specialty ICU

License : State license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Must-Have :

Competent in Hourly Neurological Assessment

Ability to manage Intracranial Pressure

Experience with External Ventricular Drain management

Skills in post-thrombectomy and post-craniotomy management

Description :

Will be scheduled to work winter holidays.

Time off will not be approved over winter holidays.

Personnel will be required to work a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduling period.

Floating to other units may be required.

This is a high acuity and fast-paced surgical ICU.

Daily census is 24 patients with a ratio of 1 : 2.

The facility cares for patients with craniotomies, aneurysms, and various neurological conditions.

Special procedures include thrombolysis for stroke patients and management of hemorrhagic strokes.

Experience in managing both traumatic and non-traumatic neurological emergencies is essential.

Proper use of monitoring equipment and a strong understanding of patient care protocols is required.

Maintaining infection prevention standards and adhering to safety protocols will be expected.

Demonstrated skills in ventilator management and handling post-surgical patients is necessary.

All candidates should showcase previous experience and certifications that align with unit needs.

Flexibility during scheduled hours is encouraged.

Team collaboration with interdisciplinary support services will be common.
