Responsibilities
Thoroughly familiar with all aspects of our product offerings including CHP and Balance of Plant, and skilled in assembly, repair, wiring, re-building, testing, and troubleshooting.Regularly travel to job-site locations to perform preventive, corrective, unscheduled maintenance and repairs on natural gas and biogas engines, generator sets, CHP power generation equipment, and related equipment.Monitor system performance via remote online controls, diagnose technical malfunctions / opERATOR errors, and provide solutions.Interface with system operators and field technicians, providing technical guidance.Perform engine overhauls, electrical & mechanical testing, calibration, and commissioning.Provide clear, concise reports of all work performed daily for internal and external reporting; observe and report conditions that could lead to unscheduled maintenance; communicate in a timely manner.Maintain project & service records, and practice consistent record keeping.Contribute to a pleasant, positive work atmosphere where all team members feel important and responsible.Adapt to the diverse needs of a small team and address internal and external requirements with flexibility and creativity.Regularly improve and update product knowledge by participating in educational and product training opportunities.Qualifications
Strong knowledge of reciprocating engines and electrical systems with a high level of skill in internal combustion engines, generator sets, and ideally natural gas engines.Experience with diesel standby or other engine technologies (e.g., compression engines). Consideration for technicians with experience in complex technologies such as aircraft engines and turbines.Ability to perform technical start-up of gas engines and CHP power systems.Independent diagnosis and repair of power systems.Basic knowledge of advanced controls, safety shutdowns, circuit breakers, and control-panel wiring.Must be available to work overtime and occasionally travel on weekends.Must be able to work independently and travel regularly.Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in written communications, telephone, and computer use.Outstanding interpersonal skills, high energy level, and ability to perform multifaceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.Resourceful, well-organized, dependable, efficient, and detail-oriented.Positive, professional, team-player attitude; flexible and able to adapt to change quickly.Valid driver's license.Experience and knowledge of IP networking including troubleshooting.Join Us
