Responsibilities Work in the Med / Surg Telemetry unit of an acute care hospital Provide care to medical-surgical patients, with specialization in Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols Patient ratios are 1 : 5-6 Shift schedule is 12-hour nights (18 : 45 to 07 : 15), three shifts per week Weekend work is required every other weekend On-call is required Floating required to other MS / Tele floors within the hospital and to affiliate hospitals as needed Navy blue scrubs are required Uses EPIC for charting; prior EPIC experience required Care for surgical patients following ERAS protocols and order sets Must be able to float across units and between affiliated hospitals within scope of practice Permanent employees must wait at least one year before returning as travelers No more than 7 days of requested time off allowed per 13-week contract; no time off approved during first week Compliance modules must be completed prior to start Fit testing required; facial hair must comply with fit testing policy Free parking is available on-site Magnet hospital environment Requirements Active IL RN license required at time of consideration Minimum 2 years of recent Med / Surg Tele experience required First-time travelers must have at least 3 years of relevant experience Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification required Prior experience with EPIC EMR required Must reside outside a 75-mile radius from the facility References from two supervisory positions within the last two years may be required No pending license candidates will be considered Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-612579.
