About The Position

The OOG Supply Chain Management (SCM) Rotational Program, primarily located in Houston, Texas, is designed to develop future SCM leaders by providing hands-on experience in multiple areas of our supply chain over a two-year period. Participants will gain exposure to core SCM functions critical to Oxy's oil and gas operations, develop technical and leadership competencies, and build a network of mentors and peers within the organization.

Role

Participants will complete three to four rotational assignments over the program, each lasting 6–12 months, progressing through increasing levels of responsibility. Each assignment includes a defined set of learning objectives, projects, and performance milestones.

Rotational Scope

  • Contract Administration, Global SCM Systems – 6 months
  • Learn SCM governance, policies, procedures, standards & guidelines (PPSGs), and contract management processes.
  • Gain in-depth exposure to our SCM systems.
  • Develop foundational skills in contract management and administration.
  • Core Competencies : Contract Management, SCM PPSGs and Processes, Corporate Social Responsibility & Ethics, SCM Systems & Administration, Communication & Presentation Skills.
  • Corporate Supply Chain – 6–12 months
  • Support sourcing, procurement, contract terms and conditions, and commercial negotiations within an assigned spend or sub-spend category.
  • Support corporate initiatives within assigned spend categories.
  • Engage in stakeholder management both internal and externally.
  • Core Competencies : Category Management, Sourcing & Procurement, Terms & Conditions, Negotiating & Influencing.
  • Operations SCM Assignment – 6 months
  • Assignments may be in U.S. Onshore (Houston, Midland, Denver), Gulf of Mexico (The Woodlands, Louisiana), or other locations based on business needs.
  • Support strategic sourcing, contract terms and conditions, and commercial negotiations for drilling & completions, facilities engineering & construction, operations, or materials management.
  • Collaborate with operations on demand planning, cost management, and logistics.
  • Core Competencies : Cost Management & Financial Analysis, Demand & Operations Planning, Materials Management, Logistics & Customs.

Training & Development

  • Formal and on-the-job training within each rotation.
  • Mentor program with a formal mentor assigned to each rotation.
  • Networking and learning events such as Lunch & Learns, formal training sessions, and field visits.
  • Leadership coaching and end-of-rotation presentations to SCM leadership.
  • Opportunities to mentor summer interns after year one.
  • Qualifications

  • BS or MS degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Distribution, or related field.
  • Must have a graduation date of December 2025 – May 2026.
  • Must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to travel and relocate for rotations.
  • Location

    Primary location : Houston, Texas. Operations / asset rotations may be in Midland, Texas; Denver, Colorado; Gulf of Mexico offices in The Woodlands and Louisiana; or other Oxy locations.
