Under the direction of the Duke School of Medicine Associate Dean for finance, the Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis will work closely with the Controller, Assistant Dean Data Analytics and Business Intelligence, and SOM Finance team to provide strategic planning analytics to support the overall SOM financial operations. The Senior Director, Financial Planning and Analysis will lead the development and improvement of enterprise-wide financial models to support multi-year budgeting, capital planning, and performance management. The successful incumbent will provide actionable insights through data-driven analysis, sensitivity testing, and forecasting to guide strategic decision-making across the School of Medicine. The role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial goals with institutional priorities, ensuring operational efficiency and fiscal accountability.

Work Arrangement Hybrid

Anticipated Pay Range - Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $111,129.00 to USD $222,260.00. Departmental Preferences

Candidates with an MBA, CPA, or equivalent professional qualification (i.e., Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant) preferred. Financial experience in a complex academic medical center or higher education is preferred. Experience with Duke University or other enterprise reporting systems (e.g., SAP, A40) to support financial and analytical reporting is preferred.

Minimum Qualification

Education / Training - Bachelor degree in business administration, accounting, finance or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience - Seven (7) years of experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
