Our Boston area client, a highly profitable private company with over 60 yrs of success using proprietary technology for coating medical devices is adding a Manufacturing Engineering Manager to their team. Unique opportunity to work for a small company with 30% growth reporting to the Director of Operations you will manage the engineering, maintenance, toolmaking, and facilities functions of the company. Support the development of the operations strategic direction and continue to strengthen our culture of continuous improvement and customer first focus.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage the technical requirements of the business, including engineering support for manufacturing, facilities, equipment, and automation systems to meet the highest quality standards and customer satisfaction.
- Develops key reliability metrics and equipment monitoring controls / systems.
- Collaborates with scheduling, supervisor / lead, and process engineer / technician on machine cycle times, capacity, and capabilities and consulted on machine issues, troubleshooting, & resolution.
- Completes continuous improvement projects to optimize equipment reliability and throughput.
- Oversees PM system and develops robust PMs and spare parts list for all equipment and automation systems with equipment suppliers and maintenance team.
- Collaborates with process engineer on critical equipment functionality and process performance monitoring needs to ensure products meet or exceed customer requirements.
- Establishes total predictive maintenance program for all value streams and facilities equipment.
- Drive maintenance excellence through equipment reliability and cost-effective automation.
REQUIREMENTS :
Bachelor Science degree in engineering. Advanced degree is a plus.3+ years in medical device experience, and a total of 10 – 15 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in the medical device and or other highly regulated industry, like aerospace and / or defense industry. 7 years in an engineering management role with responsibilities in manufacturing, maintenance, and facilities.Experience in complex electro-mechanical equipment applications is a must, automation application is preferable, and PLC controls and programming is a plus.Proficient knowledge and application of GMPs & ISO 13485 system requirements, and knowledge of equipment qualifications tools (i.e., IQ, OQ, & PQ).Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations and complies with EHS policies and procedures.
