Position Title : OSP Construction Estimator
Location : Sterling, VA (On-Site, with ~10% local travel)

Compensation : Up to $150,000 DOE (higher consideration for SME / Lead-level experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled OSP Construction Estimator to join our team in Sterling, VA. This individual will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive cost estimates and proposals for outside plant (OSP), data center, underground utility, and geotechnical projects . The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at balancing detail with deadlines, and is motivated by delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions for complex infrastructure projects.
This role is primarily in-office (90%) , with limited fieldwork (10%) to active and prospective project sites within a 60-minute radius.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed and competitive cost estimates, including full takeoffs and vendor / subcontractor pricing.
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings to confirm project scope, risks, and requirements.
- Negotiate pricing and prepare purchase orders and subcontracts for awarded projects.
- Support project management teams during pre-job meetings to ensure seamless execution.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate conditions, scope, and potential risks.
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for estimating processes and best practices.
- Collaborate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to maintain quality and alignment.
- Perform other duties as required to support business and project success.
Qualifications & Requirements
5+ years of estimating experience in telecom, electrical, OSP (outside plant), pipeline, or water / sewer construction.Strong background in data center projects and knowledge of geotechnical considerations .Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred (or equivalent experience).Advanced candidates with 10+ years' experience may be considered for a senior / lead role .Strong organizational skills and proven ability to manage multiple projects under strict deadlines .Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) ; familiarity with estimating and takeoff software a plus.What We're Looking For
