Position Overview
The Locum Tenens Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for a diverse caseload of both adult and child / adolescent patients. This role is ideal for a compassionate, collaborative clinician who values flexibility and enjoys working within a supportive, multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct psychiatric evaluations and prescribe / monitor medications for adult and pediatric populations.
Collaborate closely with therapists, case managers, and other clinical team members to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
Document all clinical encounters accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with Medicaid and clinic standards.
Communicate effectively with families, caregivers, and external providers to coordinate treatment and support continuity of care.
Participate in team meetings, treatment planning, and case reviews as needed.
Ensure compliance with all Medicaid documentation and billing requirements.
Qualifications
MD or DO, board-certified or board-eligible in Psychiatry.
Active, unrestricted Florida medical license.
Current Florida Medicaid provider enrollment (required).
Experience treating both adults and children / adolescents in an outpatient setting.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Availability for an ongoing 2 3 days-per-week schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in community or multidisciplinary behavioral health environments.
Familiarity with integrated care and psychosocial rehabilitation models.
Comfort managing complex cases with comorbid conditions.
Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic clinical setting.
