Job Title : Senior Network Architect

Task Order : HBITS-07-14336

Agency : State of New York – Office of Information Technology Services (ITS)

Location : Hybrid – Albany, NY

Duration : 24 Months

Rate : Depends on experience

Position Overview

This HBITS role designs, builds, and supports large-scale, secure enterprise networks for State of New York operations. You’ll architect solutions aligned to NYS ITS technical / security standards, troubleshoot complex LAN / WAN issues, and guide field deployments. Deep experience with Cisco (IOS), routing (OSPF / BGP), VPNs (DMVPN / IPSEC), Wi-Fi platforms, and automation (Python / Ansible) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Architect network solutions that meet business needs and NYS ITS technical / security standards.
• Troubleshoot and optimize LAN / WAN hardware for DOL; analyze logs, performance, and security.
• Coordinate vendor and agency installs / configurations ; pre-configure field devices.
• Review existing architecture; recommend upgrades / replacements with detailed specs.
• Provide L3 support for enterprise environments and update inventory in agency systems.
• Enforce ITS security / technology policies; remotely guide technicians on installs / maintenance.
