Overview
VTG is looking for multiple Launch Systems Engineers in Los Angeles CA, Colorado Springs, CO, Cape Canaveral FL and Vandenberg Air Force Base CA.
What will you do?
In general, the Launch Systems Engineer is a technical / engineering professional who acts as an advisor on Launch Enterprise capabilities including complex and critical facilities, systems and equipment operations, maintenance and future planning. The LSE provides expert scholarly advice, assessments and evaluations on technical approaches, execution, analysis of alternatives and risks.
Review, document, and trace functional and interface requirements for all OSL allocated missions and coordinates with external entities when necessary to resolve issues.
Review verification and validation processes and activities and identify risks, opportunities, and corresponding mitigation or implementation milestones.
Coordinate among OSL divisions to identify and coordinate new requirements, capture emerging risks and recommend plans of action consistent with OSL strategic goals.
Provide recommendations / products that reflect best path for the NRO and OSL Evaluate mission specification requirements
Assess adequacy of verification data / actions
Support planning, integration, acquisition for critical space launch support systems including systems-wide analysis with respect to sustainment, reliability, maintainability and availability
Identify elevated mission risks areas and develop mitigation approaches. Conduct Interface Compatibility Assessments
Advise on the Launch Readiness Process
Provide support to the OSL in preparing for and conducting all required meetings, briefings, reviews, and readiness assessments
Engineering and Enterprise level projects
Develop briefings for OSL to present to NRO leadership and external organizations
Provide program and project cost estimates across all OSL capabilities

Position requires a current and active TS / SCI with Poly; Years experience can be subsituted as follows :
5 YEARS EXP = ASSOCIATES 10 YEARS EXP = BACHELORS 15 YEARS EXP = MASTERS
The LSE-I position is an entry level engineering professional who possesses some working knowledge of relevant systems or infrastructure. LSE-I contractors shall possess at least Technical Level I (Tl). Desired experience in critical industrial systems.
The LSE-II position is an entry level engineering professional who possesses some working knowledge-of space launch systems and processes. LSE-lI will develop briefings and assessments for a variety of Govemment customers and audiences and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner. LSE-II contractors shall possess at least Technical Level IT (T2) and the following expected qualifications :
General understanding of launch vehicle processes and practices, launch site preparations flow and day-of-launch procedures
General understanding of NRO Satellite Vechicle launch interface requirements, launch transportation and processing requirements
The Level-III LSE position is an intermediate level engineering professional who possesses proven working knowledge of space launch systems and processes. Level III LSEs will develop briefings and assessment to a variety of audiences and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership. Level III LSEs will be, required to support strategic planning as well as cradle to grave launch and launch support activities. Level III LSE contractors shall possess at least the Technical Level III (T3) plus the following expected qualifications :
The Level-IV LSE position is a senior level engineering professional who possesses all the qualifications of a Level-III LSE as well as additional management, communication and technical qualifications. Level IV LSEs will develop briefings and assessment to a variety of audiences and must be able to convey information in a clear and articulate manner to Government leadership. Level IV LSEs-will be required to support strategic planning as well as cradle to grave launch and launch support activities. Level IV LSE contractors shall possess at least the Technical Level N (T4) plus the following expected qualifications :
Pay Range : VTG's estimated starting pay range is $150,000 - 210,000 annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range
