The Cardiothoracic Surgery Department offers virtually every type of cardiac surgery. With a focus on advanced technology, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience while helping facilitate the best patient experience possible. Serving in this Weekender Flex role allows you to be with loved ones, fulfill life responsibilities, take care of children and complete anything else that may interfere with a typical weekday workload. Even more, Cleveland Clinic offers 36 hours but will pay you for 44 hours. You also gain full-time status and all our included benefits. Whether you are an experienced RN or a new graduate, all nurses entering an OR specialty unit participate in a comprehensive orientation program to ensure a smooth transition into the surgical environment. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the surgical team to deliver exceptional patient care, from the initial introduction to the final send-off.
This is a weekender position that will work nights from 6 : 00pm to 6 : 30am. A caregiver in this role will have their shifts assigned after orientation. Orientation is 6 months long, Monday through Friday from 6 : 00am to 2 : 30pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will :
Provide nursing care in an operative setting to patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
Perform scrub and circulating functions.
Prepare the OR, surgical instruments and equipment for use.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :
Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross. If you do not hold this certification, you must obtain it within six months of hire
One year of RN experience OR completion of Cleveland Clinic’s Perioperative Residency Program
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include :

Physical Requirements :
Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and / or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds and ability to push, pull, and navigate supply carts weighing >
than 75 pounds periodically.
Personal Protective Equipment :
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly : $33.50
Maximum hourly : $53.60
