About the Role:

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the safety, functionality, and comfort of the healthcare facility. This position is responsible for performing routine and preventive maintenance tasks, repairing equipment, and addressing any facility-related issues promptly to support uninterrupted healthcare services. The technician will work closely with facility management and healthcare staff to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient environment for residents and employees. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are essential to minimize downtime and hazards. Ultimately, this role contributes significantly to the overall well-being of residents by maintaining a well-functioning and secure facility.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proven experience in equipment repair and general maintenance, including carpentry skills.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to punctuality and willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Basic reading and writing skills to document maintenance activities and communicate effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in a healthcare or social assistance environment.
• Certification or training in facility maintenance or related technical fields.
• Familiarity with healthcare safety standards and regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to work with integrity and maintain a professional appearance.
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections and maintenance of building systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry tasks.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs to ensure minimal disruption to healthcare operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment servicing.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to understand and address facility needs while demonstrating compassion and professionalism.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Skills:

The Maintenance Technician will utilize their ability to follow both oral and written directions to accurately complete maintenance tasks and document work performed. Integrity and professionalism are essential when interacting with residents and healthcare staff, ensuring trust and respect in all communications. Carpentry and equipment repair skills are applied daily to maintain the physical infrastructure and medical equipment, directly impacting resident safety and comfort. The technician’s punctuality and willingness to work overtime help maintain continuous facility operations without interruption.
