Job description

JOB TITLE : Director of Education

STATUS : Exempt / Salaried

TYPE : On-Campus

REPORTS TO : Campus Director

PURPOSE

  • MUST HAVE PRIOR OR CURRENT EXPERIENCE AS A DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AS WELL AS PROPRIETARY EDUCTION SPECIFIC INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

The Director of Education (DOE) is a strategic leader in assisting the College achieve its vision and mission of student success through various academic channels. The DOE leads, manages, and advises faculty members and Program Directors, at their assigned campus, and is responsible for all educational goals and student outcomes. The Director of Education is accountable for the development of a strong team of competent and talented faculty whose primary focus is to produce the best possible graduates. The DOE is essential in leading faculty members in the daily activities of the campus to ensure the highest standards of education are being provided.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with Registrars to create future student and faculty schedules

Prepare and execute quarterly faculty agreements

Ensure all faculty are using the appropriate resources in a way that furthers the Colleges educational goals and objectives

Focus on developing your TEAM of faculty members to be the best instructors in their fields and ensure the quality of our programs

Perform administrative operations when needed; annual performance reviews, counseling, and playing an active role in overseeing College policies and procedures

Work with all prospective graduates to help ensure graduates are taking a registry exam

Organize faculty meetings quarterly (at minimum) and implement student feedback

Maintain a strong investment in understanding our programs and developing new ones

Understand how students learn, what drives them, and what we can do to shape them in the most impactful ways

Focus on student attrition; monitor retention efforts, classroom orientation, academic and attendance advising

Assist in developing, establishing, maintaining, and evaluating an effective program(s) for the College’s program development and evaluation process

Uphold a strong presence with students and interact with them regularly

Responsible for new faculty orientation and annual faculty development plans

Oversee, schedule, and conduct classroom observations, assessments, and written evaluations

Work with Registrar on timely review of student transcripts related to credit transferability

Ensure that faculty members are compliant with HIPAA and FERPA regulations

Oversee compliance with OSHA and safety regulations

Mediate student disputes and ensure compliance with the Grievance Policy and Procedure; utilize witnesses when appropriate

Maintain faculty files (including continuing education requirements) and ensure files are organized, complete, and audit ready

Work with other DOEs to keep all curriculum up to date and aligned with the educational goals at all campuses. Help the College move to a standardized curriculum. Ensure our curriculum is appropriately protected with intellectual property trademark and copyright regulations

Ensure compliance with ACCSC and BPPE regulations and policies with respect to all faculty

Work with Campus Director to network with available clinical sites and maintain positive employer relationships

Additional duties as assigned by Campus Director, COO, CEO or Corporate Director of Campus Operations

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCIES

Master’s degree is required; highly prefer degree related to our sector / programs

Strong background in postsecondary compliance, management, and accreditation is required

Expert skill level of prioritizing, multi-tasking, and meeting deadlines through strong time management

Must be able to work well under pressure while staying organized, calm, and professional

Superior communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop a faculty TEAM to meet and exceed educational outcomes

Embrace the use of technology in education with strong technical skills

Ability to maintain highly confidential information

Non-negotiables include a positive attitude, the desire to help others, a self-driven nature, confident, and results-oriented

Be able to effectively collaborate with other departments and staff to meet daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly campus objectives

Other necessary character traits include being a team player and having the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written

Always behave in a professional manner in way of appearance, demeanor, and attitude

Consistently display the highest levels of integrity in all that is done

Can independently move objects up to 25 lbs.
