PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

M.T. Laney Co. Inc. is a premier paving & construction site contractor with established years of experience. As our company expands, we're seeking a motivated and experienced Project Accountant to join our team.

This role is ideal for a professional with a background in accounting , contract administration , and project coordination -particularly within the construction industry .

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Manage project cost accounting from contract setup, job cost cycle, progress billing, and financial report, through compliance, and closing of the project
• Prepare, review, and submit AIA progress payments and ensure billing compliance with contract terms
• Lead the preparation and analysis of monthly Work in Progress (WIP) reports, providing insights on project profitability and financial health
• Partner closely with project managers, estimators, and finance to ensure accurate cost reporting on construction projects.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with project-related audits, including workers' compensation and regulatory filings
• Review subcontractor invoices, payments, and lien waivers to ensure proper documentation and timely processing
• Develop and maintain project accounting procedures, improving efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting
