Job description

Position summary :

  • This position reports to the Director of EMS and responsible for the oversite of the Emergency Medical Services clinicals and infection control Position responsibilities : Develop and maintain strong professional working relationship with all clinical sites.
  • Organize and follow up on the activities of the clinical sites and the students’ attendance and requirements at each site and will provide summary reports on adherence to appropriate standards of care.
  • Teach at least one class per semester, as scheduled by the Director of EMS.
  • Write and update as needed, clinical operating guidelines and infection control policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Position Requirements :

  • EMT—Paramedic certification in good standing with the Texas Department of State Health Services.
  • Three years EMT—Paramedic experience.
  • Ability to deal professionally and courteously with a diverse employee and student population.
  • Strong skills in word processing, database, and spreadsheets.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with LMS platforms and scheduling tools.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities :

  • 0 Full-Time Direct Reports    0 Part-Time Direct Reports Physical Demands and Work Environment : Site visits to clinical sites and provider locations.
  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior / office work environment.
  • No or very limited physical effort required; however, the employee must occasionally lift and / or move up to 30 pounds.
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • Some travel and weekends required.
  • Safety :

  • Provide up-to-date clinical and Infection control policies and guidelines.
  • Provide resources for safe operation of units.
  • Create and support workplace safety.
  • Salary & Benefits :

  • 36-hour work week for a healthy work life balance as well generous paid leave time.

  • An excellent retirement program through the Teacher Retirement System or Optional Retirement Plan ‘ORP’ for full time faculty.
  • Full Time employees have free use of the college’s recreational / fitness facilities Full Time employees are eligible for the Public Student Loan Forgiveness (PLSF) after 10 years of service.
  • Tuition scholarships are for the employee and dependents.  Compensation for this 12-month position is based on years of teaching at institutions of higher education and / or years of experience in the Emergency Medical Field, and highest level of education.
  • Base pay for no experience ranges from $56,069.28 for an associate's degree to $69,191.87 for a doctorate.
  • Overload and summer classes are paid separately.   Kilgore College does not participate in the federal Social Security program.  All full-time positions are located in Kilgore, TX.
  • No fully work from home positions are available at this time.
  • All employees must be available to physically present to work on the Kilgore, TX or Longview, TX Campus.
  • Some Part-Time and Adjunct positions may be offsite but the candidate MUST live in the State of Texas.
