Director Patient Safety
Advances a patient safety program that promotes a culture of safety and the elimination of avoidable harm. This includes systems thinking and reliable design; identification and mitigation of patient safety risk; safety culture advancement; patient safety education; partnership with executive and clinical leaders; patient and family engagement; measurable reduction in avoidable harm; and risk management / claims activities.
What you will do in the role :
- Completes position responsibilities by following established guidelines & protocols within the appropriate time frame.
- Continuously improves service outcomes that impact patients and customers by awareness of the process design, measurement, assessment and commitment to improvement that is consistent with the hospital mission, vision and scope of service statements, with a commitment to excellence.
- Performs duties in a safe, functional and effective manner that reduces hazards and risks, prevents accidents and injuries and maintains safe conditions by adhering to established safety standards for body mechanics, electrical biohazard, utilities and emergency preparedness plan.
- Demonstrates skill in all forms of communication. Works well with others in a spirit of teamwork, cooperation, and collaboration. Demonstrates an understanding of the Code of Conduct.
What qualifications you will need :
Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) must be obtained within 1 year of employment start dateMasters Degree, or Bachelors Degree required3 to 5 years of previous patient safety, risk or quality experience in a hospital setting3 to 5 years of leadership experience in hospital settingCorpus Christi Medical Center is a 630+ bed healthcare system of hospitals in Corpus Christi and the surrounding Coastal Bend community.
