About the Role
Seeking an Inventory Controller / Assistant to perform shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, specimens, and equipment in a laboratory setting. This role demands both physical and administrative skills in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment, with hands-on inventory work and strict adherence to protocols and PPE requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Perform all shipping, receiving, storage, and material distribution tasks (physical and administrative) using inventory systems, internet, and phone as needed.
Receive supplies, specimens, and document deliveries; unpack and reconcile items with packing lists.
Troubleshoot and resolve inbound / outbound sample shipment delays.
Organize inventory materials in designated storage areas and maintain records of materials shipped to other locations.
Inspect inventory, track, and ensure controlled, secure stock.
Comply with all safety, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) protocols, policies, and required PPE (lab coats, face shields, gloves, goggles as needed).
Handle, store, and dispose of biohazardous materials safely.
Support facility / grounds maintenance, using computer systems for facility / security tasks; complete minor maintenance and repairs as directed.
Adhere to all Standard Operating Procedures and company policies.
Uphold professional image and maintain confidentiality of records.
Lift up to 50 pounds as part of daily tasks.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
Frequent walking, standing, bending, and occasional squatting.
Regular lifting / carrying up to 50 lbs.
Occasional exposure to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and blood-borne pathogens.
Frequent need for PPE; work is entirely onsite.
Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Basic computer proficiency.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with SAP.
Previous experience in material handling and / or facility maintenance.
Additional Details
1-2 rounds of onsite interviews (includes lab tour-long pants and closed-toe shoes required).
Strict adherence to laboratory dress code and safety guidelines; non-compliance will result in disciplinary action.
Forklift certification is not required.
